The ICOE is the International Conference on Ocean Energy and was co-hosted by Renewable UK and Scottish Renewables
On the past 23 to 25 February 2015 Bioinsight was present at the International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE 2016) in Edinburgh, Scotland. The event was co-hosted by Renewable UK and Scottish Renewables.
The conference had great participation with more than 850 participants, 180 speakers and 100 international exhibitors. International experts, from several different sectors, shared their experience, providing an exceptional opportunity to understand the scale of the global opportunities regarding ocean energy technologies and the challenges this sector faces.
There were several sessions and presentations along the days that caught the attention of the audience and fed some very interesting discussions such as “Learning from the Frontrunners – Research into environmental impacts”. Speakers such as Jocelyn Brown-Saracino (ERM, US Department of Energy) or Agnès Barillier (Environmental Expert, EDF) gave the latest on cutting edge approaches on Environmental Impact Assessment and Monitoring Protocols based on its significant experience on assessing real-sea deployments.
In parallel with the sessions and Business Partnering Service, it also happened the Ocean Energy Forum Event created by the European Commission, that focused on developing actions plans and key recommendations regarding the challenges of the development in the ocean energy sector.
