Isabel Passos

Flora Specialist & Fauna Ecologist

Isabel Passos is graduated in Biology and holds an MSc in Applied Ecology, directed to the issue of invasive plants species. She has always invested in academic and professional training, mostly on the botanic field, where she develops most of her work. During her 9 years of professional carrier she as collaborated in over 100 projects concerning the ecological section of the environmental impact assessment process, ecological monitoring programs and invasive plants control programs. 

Her main function is to help customers realize what are the effects that implementation of their project can have in nature (wind farms, roads, dams, power plants, power lines, etc.), especially over flora and vegetation, and mediate solutions that are in the best interest for customers and natural communities.
She joined Bioinsight in 2014


Main working areas or relevant skills: Field detection and identification of plant species, Laboratorial identification of plant species, Mapping of Habitats (Habitats Directive of Natura 2000 Network), Use of GIS in ecological studies, Field detection and identification amphibians, reptiles and bats (direct and indirect methods), Bat acoustic identification, Writing of technical reports, Analysis of field data.
